KAI: Train Services on Maswati-Sasaksaat Route Resume Normally
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) has stated that train services on the Maswati-Sasaksaat route in the Bandung area of West Java have returned to normal after previously being disrupted by a landslide.
“Train services on the Maswati-Sasaksaat (MSI-SKT) route have returned to normal since Thursday morning, after being affected by a landslide on Wednesday (1/4/2026),” said KAI Vice President of Corporate Communication Anne Purba in a statement in Jakarta on Thursday.
She explained that the handling process was carried out intensively and in coordination with various parties to ensure the track could be operated safely as soon as possible.
“The evacuation and track recovery process was successfully completed. On Wednesday night at 23:13 WIB, the locomotive was back on the rails and the evacuation of the Ciremai train was declared complete,” Anne stated.
She added that the handling was accelerated in a measured manner, prioritising operational safety and reliability standards. After a series of thorough inspections, the infrastructure condition was declared safe for train passage.
Previously, landslide material covering the track at Km 142+8/9 disrupted the KA 174 Ciremai train and several other services. KAI immediately adjusted its operational patterns as part of control measures to maintain safety and service smoothness.
KAI expressed appreciation to all field personnel and related parties for their quick response and solid coordination in handling the incident.
“We thank customers for their trust and understanding. KAI remains committed to providing safe, reliable, and comfortable journeys for all communities,” said Anne.
