KAI to operate LRT Jabodebek with 270 daily trips during long holiday
PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) will operate the LRT Jabodebek with 270 trips per day during the long holiday period for the Ascension of Jesus Christ in 2026 to support public mobility and ensure optimal transportation services. “A total of 270 LRT Jabodebek trips will be operated per day during the long weekend holiday from 14-17 May 2026,” said LRT Jabodebek Public Relations Manager Radhitya Mardika in a statement in Jakarta on Wednesday. He stated that LRT Jabodebek can serve as a practical and efficient public transport option for the public to travel for leisure or visit family and friends through intermodal connectivity, strategic station locations, and a maximum fare of Rp10,000 on weekends and national holidays. The presence of LRT Jabodebek stations connected to various onward transport modes facilitates public mobility to various activity centres. That transport mode has been integrated with KRL Commuter Line, Kereta Cepat Whoosh, KA Bandara, MRT Jakarta, Transjakarta, and other onward transport. In addition, several stations also provide access to tourist destinations and public activity centres such as tourist spots and shopping areas. Radhitya said that during the long holiday period, LRT Jabodebek is a transport mode directly connected to activity centres without facing traffic congestion. “LRT Jabodebek becomes one of the main choices because it is integrated with various onward modes with efficiency in terms of time certainty and practicality of onward modes,” he said. He mentioned the initial and final departure schedules for LRT Jabodebek to support public mobility during the long weekend holiday: initial departures Jati Mulya-Dukuh Atas at 05.25 WIB; Harjamukti-Dukuh Atas at 05.35 WIB; Dukuh Atas-Harjamukti at 06.28 WIB; and Dukuh Atas-Jati Mulya at 06.21 WIB. Meanwhile, final departures Jati Mulya-Dukuh Atas at 22.13 WIB; Harjamukti-Dukuh Atas at 21.46 WIB; Dukuh Atas-Harjamukti at 22.39 WIB; and Dukuh Atas-Jati Mulya at 22.31 WIB. To support user comfort while using LRT Jabodebek services, KAI provides various facilities, including priority users such as pregnant women, the elderly, people with disabilities, and toddler companions who can utilise the Priority Pin available at station counters so that officers can assist in providing priority seating inside the train. Then, for users who wish to bring bicycles, LRT Jabodebek allows foldable bicycles on weekdays with maximum dimensions of 100 cm x 40 cm x 30 cm. Meanwhile, on weekends, non-foldable bicycles are also permitted with maximum dimensions of 200 cm x 120 cm and a maximum of three bicycles per train. KAI also provides water stations at all stations, so users can refill drinking bottles or tumblers for free as part of support for an environmentally friendly lifestyle. In addition, users are urged to ensure their belongings remain supervised and not to bring prohibited items while in the station area or inside the train. “KAI provides safe and organised bicycle parking equipped with CCTV at 17 stations,” he explained. KAI also urges all users to continue complying with the rules while using LRT Jabodebek services, such as not smoking in the station and train areas, not eating and drinking inside the train, prioritising passengers getting off, and providing priority seats to those in need. “Journey safety remains the top priority in LRT Jabodebek operations, and service comfort can be realised through collective awareness of all users,” said Radhitya.
