KAI to Deploy Rail Clinic Health Services in Three Locations During First Half of 2026
PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) will deploy its Rail Clinic health service to three locations in the first half of 2026, targeting communities near railway stations in Garut, Subang, and Bandar Lampung. The service will visit Stasiun Bumiwaluya in Citeras, Malangbong District, Garut Regency; Stasiun Cipunagara in Cipunagara District, Subang Regency; and Stasiun Sukamenanti in Pidada, Panjang District, Bandar Lampung. Vice President Corporate Communication KAI Anne Purba stated that the Rail Clinic is part of the company’s Social and Environmental Responsibility programme, designed to bring basic health services closer to communities living along the railway line. Residents can undergo health checks, consult with medical personnel, receive medication based on examination results, and access health education. The train is equipped with general examination rooms, dental services, maternity facilities with ultrasound, a simple laboratory, eye examinations, and a pharmacy. Anne noted that the service is particularly meaningful for residents who may delay health checks due to daily activities, travel distance, costs, or the need for family accompaniment. In Bumiwaluya and Cipunagara, the health service is integrated with a Rail Library to provide reading spaces and educational activities for children. The library features a collection of books, comfortable reading areas with sofas and carpeted floors, and digital access through six computers connected to an e-library system. In Sukamenanti, Bandar Lampung, the Rail Clinic focuses on general health, maternity, eye, and dental examinations, as well as maternal and child health, simple laboratory tests, and health counselling. Anne emphasised that the programme does not replace existing health facilities but extends the reach of basic services to those who need initial examinations and consultations close to home. She added that KAI aims for the railway to be a part of people’s lives, bringing care and attention directly to the community.
