Ticket purchases via KAI’s Access app continue to rise. In the first quarter of 2026, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) recorded 7.2 million transactions through the app, a 20.74% increase compared to the same period in 2025 which recorded 5.9 million transactions. This increase reflects growing customer reliance on digital channels to plan train journeys. As app usage rises, KAI continues to refine its services to simplify ticket search and booking processes. ‘In addition to providing easy access, the app allows customers to obtain journey information more quickly and in an integrated manner,’ said KAI Vice President of Corporate Communication Anne Purba in a statement on Friday, 29 May 2026. The feature allows previous search histories to be displayed, eliminating the need for customers to restart searches from scratch. Additionally, KAI has improved the Schedule and Filter interface. With a more streamlined layout and user-friendly filter settings, customers can quickly find travel schedules that meet their needs. ‘The search process is more efficient as customers can directly filter travel options according to their preferences,’ Anne explained. The feature enables customers to plan journeys more conveniently without separate searches. Meanwhile, the Train Details feature allows customers to view comprehensive information about their chosen trains. Details on facilities, seat types, and journey specifics can be accessed before ticket booking. KAI continues to enhance the content and information in this feature to make it more comprehensive and informative.
