KAI Tanjungkarang sells out 20,800 tickets during long holiday period
PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Regional Division IV Tanjungkarang reported that 20,800 train tickets were sold out during the long holiday period from 26 April to 1 May 2026. “The sell-out of tickets during the long holiday period reflects the public’s high confidence in railway transport services,” said Azhar Zaki Assjari, Public Relations Manager of PT KAI (Persero) Regional Division IV Tanjungkarang, in Bandar Lampung on Wednesday. He said that the long holiday period, coinciding with weekend holidays, a communal holiday, the national holiday of Eid al-Adha 1447 H, and Pancasila Day, has driven increased public mobility for travel, whether for family visits, leisure, or other activities. “The high public demand during this long holiday period demonstrates that trains remain a preferred mode of transport due to their safety, comfort, punctuality, and affordable fares,” Zaki added. He stated that during the holiday period, the main choices for the public were the Rajabasa train service on the Tanjungkarang–Kertapati return route and the Kuala Stabas train service on the Tanjungkarang–Baturaja return route. “In addition to preparing transportation capacity, KAI Regional Division IV Tanjungkarang has ensured all operational aspects run smoothly through regular facility inspections, enhanced train journey monitoring, and readiness of service staff at stations and on board trains,” he said. KAI continues to prioritise safety and security through regular railway facility inspections, operational monitoring, and intensive coordination with all relevant staff to ensure train journeys remain safe, smooth, and controlled during the long holiday period. “We remain committed to providing safe, secure, comfortable, and punctual train journeys for all customers. All operational and service staff have been deployed to ensure optimal customer service throughout the long holiday period,” he added.
