Bandarlampung (ANTARA) - KAI Divisi Regional IV Tanjungkarang recorded 39,678 passengers who used train services during the period from 11 to 21 March 2026, or during the Eid al-Fitr homecoming rush.

“Total passengers using rail transport during the homecoming period numbered 39,678, with the peak occurring on 18 March 2026, when the number of passengers reached 3,928,” said Manager of Public Relations for KAI Divre IV Tanjungkarang, Azhar Zaki Assjari, in Bandarlampung on Saturday.

He stated that this figure indicates the high mobility of the public utilising train transportation during the Eid al-Fitr homecoming.

“Of course, with the public’s enthusiasm for using trains for their activities, we continue to optimise operational readiness across various lines to ensure all journeys run safely and smoothly,” Azhar remarked.

He emphasised that KAI Tanjungkarang prioritises safety aspects in every train journey, from inspecting facilities, supervising infrastructure such as tracks and bridges, to the readiness of on-site personnel who remain on alert during the Lebaran transport period.

“KAI ensures that all train journeys are supported by reliable facilities and well-maintained infrastructure. Our personnel are also on standby 24 hours to oversee operations and keep them running safely and smoothly,” Azhar added.

Furthermore, he continued, KAI has strengthened services at stations by deploying additional personnel to assist customers, provide travel information, and ensure orderly boarding and alighting processes.

“We also continue to coordinate with various relevant parties to support smooth operations during the Lebaran transport period, including security and train journey management,” Azhar concluded.
