KAI Sumut offers 2,700 mudik tickets at 30% discount
Residents are advised to check the list of train schedules included in the Ramadhan Festive 2026 scheme via the Access by KAI Medan app. PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Divisi Regional I Sumatera Utara is launching the Ramadhan Festive 2026 Program by allocating a total of 2,700 tickets at 30 percent discount to support the smooth flow of mudik for Lebaran 2026.
Through the programme, customers of the Sribilah Utama and Sribilah Fakultatif services on the Medan–Rantauprapat (PP) route can enjoy ticket price reductions of up to 30 percent.
Interim Public Relations Manager of KAI Divre I Sumatera Utara, Anwar Yuli Prastyo, in Medan, on Sunday explained that the programme is introduced to provide more affordable travel options for migrants in North Sumatra who wish to go home.
‘The Ramadhan Festive 2026 programme is KAI’s commitment to providing economical transport options for the public during Lebaran 2026,’ Anwar said.
Prospective passengers can access this special offer from Monday, 9 March 2026, at 00:00 WIB via the Access by KAI app and other official sales channels.
The fare reductions apply to departures between 9 and 20 March 2026 on the Executive, Business, and Economy classes.
‘We hope the presence of 2,700 discounted tickets will facilitate residents planning Idul Fitri 1447 H travel more affordably while avoiding traffic congestion,’ he added.
Among the terms of the discount, discounts cannot be combined with special fares, other reductions, or other discount tickets.
Nevertheless, these discounted tickets remain flexible as departure times may be changed or cancelled in accordance with applicable regulations.
‘The programme runs while seats and discount rates are available. The public is advised to check the list of train schedules under the Ramadhan Festive 2026 scheme via the Access by KAI app,’ he added.
Overall, during Lebaran transport period 2026 in North Sumatra, a total of 12,876 tickets with 30 percent discounts are available.
The figure comprises 10,176 tickets from government stimulus programs, while the remaining 2,700 represent a direct contribution from KAI through Ramadhan Festive 2026.
‘Thousands of discounted tickets are KAI Divre I Sumut’s support to move people and boost the regional economy in North Sumatra. With travel that is more efficient, safe, and comfortable, the programme is expected to help residents return to their hometowns or visit tourism destinations while boosting broader economic activity,’ he said.
