KAI strengthens railway transformation towards integrated mobility
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) is strengthening its railway transformation towards integrated mobility through 2030 by developing service ecosystems, digitalisation, freight transport, and sustainable operations.
Anne Purba, Vice President of Corporate Communication at KAI, stated that through the 2026–2030 Long-Term Corporate Plan (RJPP), the company is preparing a transformation towards becoming a World-Class Railway Operator and Ecosystem Orchestrator.
“This direction reflects KAI’s efforts to build a railway ecosystem that connects passenger services, logistics, technology, assets, and sustainability within a single integrated network,” Anne confirmed in Jakarta on Sunday.
She noted that railways continue to evolve in response to the changing needs of the Indonesian people, supporting commutes to workplaces, educational institutions, and various activities, while smoothing goods distribution and strengthening inter-regional connectivity.
According to Anne, railways are playing an increasingly vital role in the lives of the public. Every day, millions of people utilise these transport services for work, education, visiting family, conducting business, and travelling for tourism.
“KAI’s transformation is directed so that the benefits of the railway can be felt more widely by the community,” said Anne.
The scale of KAI’s services is reflected in its growing customer base. Throughout January–July 2026, the KAI Group served 307,860,743 passengers, an 8.32 per cent increase compared to the same period in 2025, which saw 284,202,884 passengers.
