KAI Services Explores MSME Partnership Opportunities at IPB Campuspreneur
KAI Services shared its experience regarding partnership opportunities with MSMEs at a talk show for the Campuspreneur programme, focused on developing young export-oriented entrepreneurs, at the IPB University campus in Bogor on Friday (12/6/2026). During the talk show, KAI Services Consumer Business Director Lies Permana Lestari explained the company’s primary role in supporting MSMEs, which includes creating a market for quality MSME products as a demonstration of MSME empowerment and support for the people’s economy to achieve independence and competitiveness. ‘Through various programmes, KAI Services helps create a market for well-curated, quality MSME products, enhancing competitiveness, product quality consistency, and marketing capabilities, such as through sales in KAI Services channels like Restaurant on Train, Loko Cafe, and several other channels,’ Lies said. She added that the extensive network of PT KAI (Persero) serves as a strategic asset to support MSMEs in expanding their market reach, particularly across Java and Sumatra (Tanjung Karang, Palembang, Medan, Padang). KAI Services offers various promotional and sales channels, including displays at Loko Cafe, the Access by KAI application, and on-board product sales (Kuliner Kereta). ‘One strategic step taken by KAI Services is collaborating with the Ministry of Trade, which has provided guidance and assistance to MSMEs so they can produce quality products. We curate these MSME products and give the best ones the opportunity to be sold on trains and at Loko Cafe. This collaboration is expected to yield high-quality products ready to compete in national and international markets,’ Lies stated. Students from IPB University enthusiastically followed the material presented by the Consumer Business Director, with several asking questions about the partnership between KAI Services and MSMEs fostered by the Ministry of Trade. The talk show, themed around the Campuspreneur programme for developing young export-oriented entrepreneurs and export release, also featured other speakers, including Director of Domestic Product Marketing at the Ministry of Trade, Dewi Rokhayati, and Head of the Centre for Export Human Resources Development and Trade Services at the Ministry of Trade, Abu Amar. The event was also attended by the Minister of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia, Budi Santoso, who invited several students to participate in the Campuspreneur event held at the IPB campus in Bogor that morning.
