KAI Secures 6,047 Lost Items Worth Rp 4.43 Billion in Q1 2026
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Throughout the first quarter of 2026, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) has secured 6,047 lost items with an estimated value reaching Rp 4.43 billion.
KAI Vice President of Corporate Communication, Anne Purba, stated that of this number, 1,450 items were valuable, such as mobile phones, tablets, and jewellery.
“During the Lebaran transport period from 13 March to 30 March 2026, KAI also secured 1,884 lost items with an estimated value of around Rp 1.3 billion, of which 424 were valuable items,” said Anne in an official statement on Friday (10/4/2026).
“We strive to ensure that our weekend journeys remain safe and comfortable. We remind passengers to double-check their belongings when boarding, during the journey, and when alighting from the train,” Anne added.
She further explained that every lost item is immediately handled by staff according to procedures.
Found items are secured, recorded, and traced to be returned to their owners.
Anne noted that KAI continues to equip its staff, including security and customer service personnel, through regular training.
This equipping covers the handling of found items, customer service, and strengthening integrity values.
“Through the Lost and Found service, passengers who have lost items can immediately report to Customer Service officers or Polsuska at the station, or via the 121 Call Centre,” she said.
