KAI Says Bogor and Tangerang Commuter Line Services Have Returned to Normal

KAI Commuter Public Relations Manager Leza Arlan has stated that Commuter Line Bogor and Commuter Line Tangerang services, which experienced delays on Thursday (20/8/2026) due to collisions, have now returned to normal. Leza said KAI Commuter is continuing to normalise and resolve journey delays on the lines.

“Commuter Line Bogor service No. 1183 on the Bogor–Jakarta Kota route, which struck a person and suffered damage to its braking system, has been put back into operation towards Manggarai Station,” Leza said in a written statement in Jakarta on Thursday (20/8/2026).

Leza also reported on the situation involving Commuter Line Tangerang No. 1914A on the Duri–Tangerang route, which struck a motorcycle at an unofficial level crossing between Rawabuaya and Batu Ceper stations. He said that line has also returned to normal operation.

“As a result of these incidents, ten Commuter Line Bogor journeys experienced delays of more than one hour and were cancelled, while eight Commuter Line Tangerang journeys experienced delays of up to 48 minutes,” Leza explained.

Leza said that to reduce delays, KAI Commuter temporarily implemented a single-track operational pattern between Pasar Minggu and Manggarai stations for the Bogor line, and between Rawa Buaya and Batu Ceper stations for the Tangerang line. KAI Commuter, he continued, deeply regrets the delays caused by disruptions from collisions involving a person in the railway area and road users who failed to give priority to trains.

In accordance with Railway Law No. 23 of 2027, it is clearly prohibited for anyone without permission to be in the railway track area, and road users are required to always give priority to trains.

“KAI Commuter strictly prohibits unauthorised persons from being in the railway track area and always gives priority to trains passing when approaching level crossings,” Leza said.
