JAKARTA — PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI’s Vice President of Corporate Communication, Anne Purba, stated that the company continues to act cooperatively and support the entire investigation and handling process currently underway regarding the train accident at East Bekasi Station. Anne said KAI continues to receive updates on the investigation process conducted by KNKT and the Police during the Information Post that is ongoing until 11 May 2026, including various information dynamics developing in the public sphere following the incident. “KAI understands the significant public attention and various questions regarding this event,” Anne said in a written statement in Jakarta on Friday (8/5/2026). Nevertheless, Anne asked all parties to give space to the official investigation process so that it can proceed objectively, comprehensively, and based on accountable data. She understands that this incident has generated much public attention and questions from society. “However, we invite all parties to wait for the official investigation results from KNKT and the authorised authorities, so that all circulating information remains based on facts and objective investigation results,” said Anne. Anne added that KAI will continue to support all processes carried out by the authorities and remain committed to implementing safety measures and enforcement of rules at level crossings in accordance with applicable regulations. KAI, continued Anne, is also continuing to coordinate with all relevant parties until the official investigation results are announced by the authorised parties.
