KAI Regional Division 6 Urges Public to Take Advantage of 30% Discount on Lebaran Train Tickets

Yogyakarta (ANTARA) - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Regional Division 6 Yogyakarta has reminded the public that the government’s 30 per cent discount programme on train tickets for the 2026 Lebaran homecoming season is still available.

“The 30 per cent discounted tickets under the government programme have been available for booking in stages since 10 February 2026,” said Feni Novida Saragih, Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Regional Division 6 Yogyakarta, on Sunday.

She explained that the programme is part of the government’s policy for the National Religious Holiday period, including Eid al-Fitr, which provides a 30 per cent stimulus discount for a number of train journeys, including those served within the Regional Division 6 Yogyakarta area, to support smooth public mobility during the Lebaran holiday.

“This programme also provides easier access to safe, comfortable and affordable public transport,” she said.

She urged the public to book tickets promptly and take advantage of this special government programme for travel during the period of 14 to 29 March 2026.

“We are reminding the public once again that the 30 per cent discount on commercial economy-class train tickets is still available during the 2026 Lebaran transport period,” she said.

Feni said there are 85 train services in the Regional Division 6 Yogyakarta area included in the government’s 30 per cent stimulus discount programme. Beyond the affordable fares, trains remain the public’s preferred mode of transport due to their punctuality, travel comfort and freedom from road congestion.

“KAI Regional Division 6 has also ensured that all aspects of safety, security and customer service have been optimally prepared to accommodate the surge in passengers during the 2026 Lebaran transport period,” she said.

She added that KAI Regional Division 6 is committed to continuing to deliver safe, secure, comfortable and punctual transport services to support the smooth flow of Lebaran homecoming and return travel this year.
