PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero), known as KAI, supports and is cooperating fully with the safety investigation process conducted by the National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT) regarding the incident involving the Argo Bromo Anggrek train and the 5568A Commuter Line in Bekasi Timur.

KAI Vice President of Corporate Communication, Anne Purba, stated that KAI respects the independent and comprehensive investigation process carried out by the KNKT. “KAI is also prepared to follow up on the recommendations provided, in accordance with the company’s authority and responsibilities,” Anne said in a written statement in Jakarta on Tuesday (29/09/2026).

While the investigation is ongoing, Anne noted that KAI has already implemented several safety anticipatory measures. These include accelerating the management of level crossings through coordination with relevant parties, implementing operational restrictions (BLB) in the Bekasi area, and maintaining continuous coordination with the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transport regarding infrastructure aspects.

Anne ensured that KAI will act upon the KNKT safety recommendations based on the results of the investigation and analysis. “We do not want the evaluation to merely remain as a document,” Anne said.

Anne mentioned that the KNKT recommendations must be translated into field improvements, covering procedures, human resource readiness, and inter-party coordination, including public education to increase awareness regarding safety at level crossings. KAI will ensure that follow-up actions are carried out and will continue to coordinate with regulators and relevant stakeholders.

KAI, Anne continued, is also strengthening the supervision of safety procedure implementation, ensuring the readiness of personnel, and periodically evaluating operational systems and processes.

Anne stated that every finding serves as material to improve working methods and strengthen safety systems sustainably. “Every evaluation must lead to improvement. KAI is committed to continuous learning, improving, and ensuring that train journeys become increasingly safe and reliable,” she concluded.
