As of Sunday (12 July) afternoon, he said, 13,793 customers had departed from stations in the KAI Purwokerto area and 13,041 customers had arrived. “This number still has the potential to increase because ticket sales are ongoing until the final train departure schedule,” he said. He said the favourite destinations for customers from the KAI Purwokerto area were still dominated by stations in major cities, namely Jakarta (Pasarsenen and Gambir stations), Yogyakarta (Yogyakarta and Lempuyangan stations), Bandung (Bandung and Kiaracondong stations), and Bekasi Station. “The high public interest in travelling to these cities shows that trains remain the preferred mode of transport during the holiday season,” he said. According to him, KAI provided various facilities and services during the school holiday period, including free children’s play areas at several major stations, improved cleanliness and comfort of station facilities, and optimal service from officers at stations and on trains to support customer comfort. He said the high level of public trust motivates KAI to continue improving service quality in all operational aspects while prioritising safety, security, and travel comfort. “We express our gratitude for the public’s trust in choosing trains as a mode of transport during the school holidays. KAI will continue to prioritise safety as the main priority, while delivering more reliable and comfortable services oriented towards customer needs, so that every journey becomes a memorable experience,” said As’ad.
