PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Daerah Operasi 5 Purwokerto recorded hundreds of customer items left behind at stations or on trains during the Eid transport period in 2026, with a total estimated value exceeding Rp110 million.

“During the 21-day Eid transport period in 2026 held from 11 to 31 March, we secured 336 items recorded in the KAI Lost and Found system. The overall estimated value of these items exceeds Rp110 million,” said Manager of Public Relations for KAI Daop 5 Purwokerto, M As’ad Habibuddin, in Purwokerto, Banyumas Regency, Central Java, on Wednesday.

He stated that various types of valuable items were secured, including mobile phones, wallets, bags, important documents, and other personal belongings left in station areas or on trains.

According to him, the Lost and Found service is one form of KAI’s commitment to providing the best service to customers, particularly in ensuring security and comfort during travel.

Of the total items found, he said, the majority have been successfully returned to their owners.

“The success in securing and returning these items is a tangible manifestation of KAI’s commitment to delivering reliable service, especially during the Eid transport period with very high travel intensity,” he emphasised.

He explained that all found items are recorded and secured by staff, and can be reclaimed by owners through a verification process in accordance with applicable regulations.

He also urged customers to always ensure they have their carry-on items before alighting from the train or leaving the station area.

“Although carry-on items are the responsibility of each customer, KAI continues to strive to provide premium service by assisting in securing and returning lost items,” he said.

In addition, he noted that announcer staff routinely remind customers to safeguard their belongings, both at the station and during the journey on the train.

He stated that for customers who feel they have lost or left items behind, reports can be submitted to conductors, station security staff, or through KAI’s Contact Center 121, either by phone at 121 or WhatsApp at 081-122-233-121.

According to him, Lost and Found services in the KAI Purwokerto operational area are available at several main stations, including Purwokerto Station, Kutoarjo Station, and Cilacap Station.

Regarding passenger volume during the 11–31 March 2026 period, he said KAI Purwokerto served 959,963 train passengers, consisting of 453,941 departing and 506,022 arriving at various stations in the region.

“KAI Daop 5 Purwokerto will continue to enhance service quality, including optimising Lost and Found services, to provide a sense of security and comfort for all customers,” said As’ad.
