Mahendro Trang Bawono, Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Regional Operations 8 Surabaya, announced in Malang on Saturday that ticket sales for the Lebaran 2026 transport period from Malang Station opened on 15 February 2026.

“Both regular and additional train tickets can now be booked through the Access by KAI application and other official sales channels. A total of 136,045 tickets have been made available,” said Mahendro.

He noted that ticket bookings for Lebaran transport from Malang Station had already reached 28,447 tickets out of the 136,045 allocation.

Cumulatively, bookings from other stations across the Greater Malang area — namely Kepanjen Station, Sumberpucung Station, and Lawang Station in Malang Regency, as well as Malang Kota Lama Station in Malang City — have reached 25 per cent, or 34,965 tickets in total.

The breakdown of departure bookings from other Greater Malang stations is as follows: 2,729 tickets at Kepanjen Station, 1,398 tickets at Lawang Station, 1,398 tickets at Sumberpucung Station, and 2,391 tickets at Malang Kota Lama Station.

The most popular destinations for travellers departing from the Malang area are Jakarta, Banyuwangi, Bandung, and Purwokerto.

PT KAI Regional Operations 8 Surabaya confirmed it is conducting intensive monitoring of booking figures to ensure travel quota availability, and will continue to update information on remaining ticket numbers.

Mahendro urged all members of the public planning to travel home for the holiday or take trips to book their tickets well in advance to avoid missing out on available quotas.

“KAI also encourages the public to plan their journeys promptly and book early to secure schedules and service classes that suit their needs,” he said.
