KAI Properti strengthens safety ecosystem at level crossings
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI), through its subsidiary KAI Properti, is strengthening railway operational safety, particularly at level crossings, by enhancing safety facilities and increasing the competence of level crossing guards (PJL).
“As of 27 August 2024, the construction of guard posts at 190 priority points has been realised in 154 locations, reaching 81.05 per cent,” stated KAI Properti Corporate Communication Manager, Bramantya Candrika, in Jakarta on Sunday.
The programme involves the procurement and installation of guard posts, communication equipment, alarms, safety signs, and supporting equipment for level crossing safety.
“The construction of these 190 guard posts is spread across all KAI Operational Areas (Daop) and Regional Divisions (Divre),” he added.
He emphasised that safety remains a continuous priority in every project undertaken by KAI Properti. Consequently, support for safety at level crossings is being implemented through two approaches: strengthening supporting facilities and improving the readiness of personnel operating in the field.
“From a human resources perspective, KAI Properti also provides continuous training and briefing to the level crossing guards on duty,” he explained.
