KAI Properti: Malioboro Corridor Serves as Public Space and Platform for Local SMEs

Yogyakarta (ANTARA) - KAI Properti has stated that Slasar Malioboro, located within the Yogyakarta Station complex, is being utilised as a public space and a platform for local Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to market their products, especially during the school holiday season.

Agus Juanedi, Corporate Secretary of KAI Properti in Yogyakarta, said on Wednesday that the existence of Slasar Malioboro aims to provide a comfortable and orderly public space for both visitors and tenants operating at the location.

“The area is not only comfortable to visit, but it is also capable of serving as a business space that provides growth opportunities for MSME players,” said Agus.

He noted that Slasar Malioboro can serve as an organised business space for MSMEs, while simultaneously enriching the tourist experience and driving local economic activity.

“Slasar Malioboro is an embodiment of how business spaces, tourism activities, and public services can coexist,” he added.

According to Agus, visitors can enjoy various culinary delights and shop for local products within the Slasar Malioboro area, situated in the Yogyakarta Station complex.

“Through more integrated management, Slasar Malioboro is expected to provide a better experience for visitors while creating an organised business ecosystem,” he said.

He assessed that Slasar Malioboro has become a favourite stopover for tourists while waiting for train departure schedules, particularly during school holiday periods.

“Data from KAI Regional Division 6 Yogyakarta shows that as of 26 June 2024, there has been a 21 per cent increase in passenger mobility at Yogyakarta Station,” he stated.

According to him, Slasar Malioboro is easily accessible on foot as it remains within the Yogyakarta Station complex.

The area offers a variety of culinary options, MSME products, and relaxation areas that can be enjoyed by both the local community and tourists.
