KAI Properti Extends Platforms at Bogor Station to Boost KRL Service Capacity
KAI Properti is undertaking an infrastructure development project involving the extension of platforms on lines 6, 7, and 8 at Bogor Station. This project is part of the KAI Group’s commitment to supporting the modernisation of national railway infrastructure while improving services for KRL Commuter Line users.
KAI Properti Corporate Secretary Agus Junaedi stated that the development of these lines and platforms will play a crucial role in supporting increased passenger service capacity, particularly to anticipate the growth in public mobility in the Bogor region and its surroundings.
“This infrastructure development represents KAI Properti’s support for improving the quality of rail-based public transport services. We hope the facilities built will provide better comfort for KRL users while supporting increasingly reliable railway operations,” Agus said in a statement on 18 June 2026.
He explained that the work aims to accommodate KRL Commuter Line trains with a 12-carriage formation (SF12), which previously operated with a 10-carriage formation. As public mobility and train travel volumes at Bogor Station increase, this facility development is a strategic step to support service capacity, operational smoothness, and enhance the comfort and safety of railway service users.
Currently, the existing platforms and lines are deemed not yet optimal for supporting train operations with larger capacity. Therefore, this project involves extending the platforms on lines 6 and 7 from 201 metres to 251 metres. Meanwhile, the platform on line 8 is being extended from 204 metres to 252 metres.
To date, several major work stages have been completed, including the construction of platform and hall structures, rail track installation, and overhead catenary system (LAA) work. Progress continues with the installation of steel structures, platform roofing, and architectural finishing works.
During implementation, KAI Properti and the executing contractor continue to ensure all work proceeds according to plan and meets established quality standards. Occupational safety, work quality, and timely completion are the main focus at every project stage.
“The work is carried out with due regard to the active operational area at the station, so that passenger service activities and train journeys can continue to run safely, comfortably, and smoothly,” Agus added.
