Surabaya (ANTARA) - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) projects 50,110 customers using train services through Daerah Operasi (Daop) 8 Surabaya on this Saturday, consisting of 28,351 arriving customers and 21,759 departing customers. “This number still has the potential to increase until evening in line with the high mobility of the public,” said KAI Daop 8 Surabaya Public Relations Manager Mahendro Trang Bawono in Surabaya, East Java, on Saturday. The three stations with the highest passenger volumes today are Surabaya Gubeng Station with 14,718 customers, Surabaya Pasarturi Station with 14,526 customers, and Malang Station with 8,169 customers. Cumulatively during the Lebaran transport period from 11–28 March 2026, KAI Daop 8 Surabaya has served 846,912 customers, consisting of 432,546 departing and 414,366 arriving. Meanwhile, the total passenger volume during the 2026 Lebaran transport period is projected to reach 946,089 customers. Mahendro advised customers to arrive early at the station and not approach departure time so that the journey remains smooth and comfortable. In addition, customers are reminded to always look after their luggage and travel according to the route stated on the ticket. “We invite the public to take advantage of the various special programmes that are still available. Besides being more economical, travelling by train also provides a safe, comfortable, and on-time experience,” said Mahendro.
