PT Kereta Api Indonesia has assured that it will provide full compensation to the victims of the train accident involving the KRL Commuter Line and the Argo Bromo Anggrek train at Bekasi Timur Station, Bekasi, West Java, on Monday night (27/4/2026). This commitment includes funding for treatment, insurance, and other needs for the affected victims. KAI will definitely take responsibility in terms of treatment, insurance, and other matters. We are committed to taking responsibility for that,” said Anne during a press conference at Bekasi Timur Station on Tuesday morning. In the incident, all 240 passengers of the KA Argo Bromo Anggrek were reported safe and have been successfully evacuated from the scene. Meanwhile, 38 KRL passengers have been evacuated and referred to several nearby hospitals for treatment. “These 38 KRL passengers have been evacuated by us and taken to the nearest hospitals, including Primaya, RSUD, and two other hospitals around Bekasi Station,” said Anne. KAI stated that the current main focus is the passenger and crew evacuation process, as well as handling the victims with safety aspects prioritised. The company has also opened a complaint service for families of victims who have not yet received information about their relatives’ condition.
