KAI Offers 20 Percent Ticket Discount at North Sumatra Fair

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Regional Division I North Sumatra is offering train ticket discounts of up to 20 percent for purchases made at its booth during the 2026 North Sumatra Fair (PRSU). KAI Divre I Sumut Public Relations Manager Anwar Yuli Prastyo stated on Saturday that the promotion can be utilised by the public through direct purchases at the KAI booth in the PRSU area from 3 July to 2 August 2026. Notably, the ticket booking service at the booth is not limited to train journeys within North Sumatra but also accommodates bookings for travel on the island of Java. The discount applies to long and medium-distance commercial train journeys for business and executive classes, with departure periods from 3 July to 16 September 2026. A 20 percent discount is offered for departures on Monday to Thursday, while a 5 percent discount applies to Friday to Sunday departures, subject to promotional ticket availability. The promotion is not valid for special fares, reductions, or combined discounts, and cannot be used for special services such as Suite Class Compartment, Luxury, Priority, Imperial, Panoramic, and Tourist Trains. However, promotional tickets can still be cancelled or rescheduled according to applicable regulations. The promotion coincides with high public mobility during the school holiday period. From 20 June to 4 July 2026, KAI Divre I Sumut served 130,179 customers across its operational routes, representing 103 percent of the available capacity of 126,788 seats during that period. In addition to ticket sales, the KAI booth at PRSU 2026 also serves as an information centre for the public seeking travel schedules, face recognition registration guidance, and instructions on using the Access by KAI application. There are also games with attractive souvenir prizes for customers who make transactions at the booth.
