KAI Offers 100% Ticket Refunds to Passengers Affected by Sasaksaat Landslide
Bandung (ANTARA) - PT KAI Daerah Operasi (Daop) 2 Bandung is providing a guarantee of full ticket refunds amounting to 100 per cent for all passengers affected by the cancellation of journeys due to a landslide in the Maswati-Sasaksaat section, West Bandung, on Wednesday.
This measure is being taken as a form of responsibility following the halt in operations of several train services due to landslide material covering the main track.
“For those affected by the cancellations, refunds can be claimed for 100 per cent of the fare shown on the ticket,” said Manager of Public Relations for KAI Daop 2 Bandung, Kuswardojo, when contacted in Bandung on Wednesday evening.
In addition to the option of full refunds, KAI is also offering alternative solutions for passengers who still wish to proceed to their destinations by facilitating other modes of transport.
“If they wish, passengers can also use the buses we have provided to take them to their destination,” he said.
This policy applies to prospective passengers from various train services that experienced total or partial cancellations.
Regarding the continuation of train operations for Thursday (2/4) departures, including those in the morning, Kuswardojo stated that his team is still endeavouring to normalise the track as quickly as possible under the rain.
“So far, there have been no cancellations for tomorrow’s journeys; we hope it can be resolved soon so that KA services can return to normal,” he added.
To date, technical personnel continue to be on standby at the incident site to remove the landslide material so that the vital track connecting Bandung to Jakarta and Cirebon can be traversed safely again as soon as possible.
The landslide material also struck the ill-fated locomotive, causing it to derail.
