PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) is offering full refunds for train tickets cancelled due to the collision between KA Argo Bromo Anggrek and a KRL train at Bekasi Timur Station on Monday (27 April 2026). KAI’s Vice President of Corporate Communication, Anne Purba, stated that the company is fulfilling customer rights by refunding tickets for affected long-distance journeys. As of 28 April 2026 at 11:00 WIB, 4,878 tickets have been refunded. Anne explained that this policy provides certainty for impacted customers. “KAI is providing a 100% refund of the ticket fare, excluding booking fees, for affected customers. We ensure the entire process is easily accessible through various service channels,” Anne said in an official statement on Tuesday (28 April 2026). The policy also includes return tickets, connecting tickets, and KAI Group services under the same booking code that were affected. Customers who continue their journey on replacement trains in the same or higher class will not incur additional charges. The company has also prepared onward transport options if the journey cannot proceed to the destination station. If onward transport is unavailable, full ticket refunds are still provided. Refunds can be processed through several channels. Station counters handle cancellations by verifying boarding passes or e-boarding, with funds returned in cash or via transfer. Refunds for company-cancelled trips are also available through the Access by KAI app. The deadline for refund applications is seven days from the scheduled departure time on the ticket. The fund disbursement process is targeted to be completed within a maximum of 1 x 24 hours after cancellation. Full refunds for baggage fees are also provided if customers do not travel. The collision incident occurred on Monday evening around 20:55 WIB. The KRL Commuter Line train stopped due to a disruption on the track after a taxi was struck at a level crossing near Bulak Kapal.
