KAI North Sumatra Division Offers 20% Executive Ticket Discount for Return Flow

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Divisi Regional I Sumatera Utara is offering a 20% discount on tickets for departures from 25 March to 1 April 2026. This measure is intended to facilitate travel for the public during the Lebaran return flow period. Acting Manager of Public Relations for KAI Divre I Sumut, Anwar Yuli Prastyo, stated that the promotion targets executive class services on the KA Sribilah Utama train route from Medan Station to Tebingtinggi, Kisaran, and Rantauprapat Stations. With this discount, the executive class ticket price drops to Rp200,000 from the normal Rp250,000. “The Silaturahmi promotion is here to provide convenience for the public during the return flow period, while also serving as KAI’s support for the government’s policy implementing Work From Anywhere (WFA) and Work From Home (WFH) mechanisms for several agencies post-Lebaran,” said Anwar in Medan on Wednesday (25/3). The discounted departure schedules from Medan Station are at 09.05 WIB, 15.50 WIB, and 23.00 WIB. It should be noted that this promotion applies only to departures from Medan Station and not for the reverse direction (Rantauprapat-Medan). Anwar emphasised that there is no special quota for this programme. As long as tickets are available, the public can directly take advantage of the discount through KAI’s official sales channels. Based on data from KAI Divre I Sumut, the peak return flow customer volume reached 12,939 people in one day. Cumulatively, from 11 March (H-10) to 25 March (H+3), KAI Divre I Sumut has served a total of 143,153 customers. To date, the KA Putri Deli remains the favourite choice for passengers during the 2026 Lebaran transportation period, followed by KA Sribilah Utama and KA Siantar Ekspres. “KAI Divre I North Sumatra invites the public to take advantage of this momentum to rearrange their travel in a more economical and comfortable manner. KAI is fully committed to ensuring every journey remains safe and on time until the Lebaran transportation period ends,” Anwar concluded.
