KAI Maintains LRT Jabodebek Hygiene Through Pest Control and Fumigation

Maintaining cleanliness for passenger comfort on the LRT Jabodebek extends beyond exterior washing to include regular maintenance such as periodic pest control and fumigation. This prevents pests like cockroaches, mites, rats, and others, ensuring journeys remain clean, healthy, and comfortable.

LRT Jabodebek Public Relations Manager Radhitya Mardika stated that facility cleanliness is crucial for maintaining the quality of modern public transport services.

‘Through regular pest control and fumigation, KAI ensures LRT Jabodebek facilities remain hygienic and comfortable for public use. This effort reflects our commitment to providing safe, healthy, and reliable public transport,’ Mardika said.

Technically, KAI conducts monthly pest control treatments to eliminate and prevent common pests such as rats and cockroaches across vehicle and operational support areas.

Fumigation is also performed on each train using fumigant in sealed gas chambers under specific temperature and pressure conditions. This method ensures thorough and optimal treatment, reaching the source of pests.

This step is part of maintaining hygiene and health standards for modern public transport amid high public mobility.

‘LRT Jabodebek users receive not only timely transport services but also comfortable journeys free from pest disturbances and meeting health standards. This is part of KAI’s efforts to build public trust and loyalty,’ he added.
