PT Kereta Api Indonesia's Madiun Operations Area (Daop 7) has prepared additional train services to accommodate the expected surge in passengers during the 2026 Lebaran transport season.

Tohari, Public Relations Manager of KAI Daop 7 Madiun, said on Thursday that the additional train allocated for the Daop 7 Madiun area is the Brantas Tambahan, serving business and economy class on the Blitar–Pasar Senen (Jakarta) route.

"To accommodate customer demand for rail transport, we have prepared additional trains. Specifically, the additional train departing from stations within the Daop 7 area is the Brantas Tambahan," he said.

Ticket bookings for the Brantas Tambahan have been open in stages since 11 February 2026.

Nationally, KAI has added several services across various routes and classes to meet the high public demand for rail travel during the Lebaran 2026 period.

Four additional long-distance trains will pass through the Daop 7 Madiun area: the Sancaka Tambahan on the Surabaya Gubeng–Yogyakarta route (return), the Gajayana Tambahan on the Malang–Gambir route (return), an additional service on the Surabaya Gubeng–Gambir route (return), and the Pasundan Tambahan on the Surabaya Gubeng–Kiaracondong route (return).

Tohari confirmed that Lebaran train ticket availability remains sufficient. "For instance, the Madiun Jaya departing from Madiun Station to Pasar Senen still has adequate seating. Other trains also still have availability, which can be checked through the Access by KAI application," he said.

As of Thursday, 19 February 2026, KAI Daop 7 Madiun recorded positive sales trends for both regular and additional Lebaran train tickets for the departure period of 11 March to 1 April 2026.

According to data as at 19 February 2026 at 07.44 Western Indonesian Time, long-distance train tickets with initial departures from the Daop 7 Madiun area had sold 55,147 tickets, or approximately 69 per cent of the total capacity of 80,124 seats.

"Of that 69 per cent, the majority were booked for departures between 22 March and 1 April 2026. We are committed to providing optimal service so that the 2026 Lebaran transport period runs safely, securely, comfortably, and memorably for all passengers," Tohari said.
