KAI Logistik Records 13,435 Pet Shipments During Eid Homecoming

JAKARTA – The pet transportation service showed improved performance during the Ramadan to Eid al-Fitr 2026 period. PT Kereta Api Logistik (KAI Logistik) recorded 13,435 pets shipped during that time. This figure reflects the rising public demand for safe, comfortable, and reliable logistics services for pets. “The peak shipment occurred in the second week of Ramadan with a volume of 3,689 animals, with an average daily shipment of 527 animals, an increase of around 8 per cent compared to regular days,” said Adjeng in a press release on Friday (27/3/2026). She added that the positive trend continued into the final week of Ramadan. During that period, the number of shipments reached 3,703 animals. “This positive trend was also evident in the final week of Ramadan, recording 3,703 pets, or a significant increase of 57 per cent compared to the same period last year which reached 2,357 animals,” she continued. Meanwhile, areas such as Tulungagung, Blitar, Kediri, Pati, Solo, Yogyakarta, and Malang were recorded as the highest shipment points. Some of them are also known as ornamental fish centres, which became one of the types of pets shipped during this period. Adjeng assessed that this increase in shipments not only reflects the high mobility of the public during the homecoming season but also shows the changing role of pets in people’s lives. Amid the high mobility during homecoming, pet shipping services also become an alternative for the public besides boarding at pet hotels.
