KAI Logistik Distributes 4 Hydraulic Locomotives for 2026 Eid Transport
As the 1447 Hijriah Eid transport period approaches, KAI Logistik is distributing four hydraulic locomotives to strengthen the operational readiness of passenger trains. This step is taken through synergy with its parent company, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero), to support the optimisation of transportation facilities amid increasing public mobility. VP of Corporate Secretary at KAI Logistik, Dwi Wulandari, stated that the delivery of these locomotives is a continuation of previous collaborations in the programme to maximise cross-island assets. Dwi explained that with this additional fleet, the readiness of facilities in the Java operational region is expected to be even more optimal in facing the surge in public mobility during the Eid transport period. The locomotive distribution is carried out through KAI Logistik’s KALOG Pro service in the Project Logistics segment, which has the capability to handle heavy cargo logistics shipments. In this delivery, KAI Logistik mobilised two BB203 series locomotives and two BB303 series locomotives, with a total weight of 232 tonnes. According to Dwi, the locomotive distribution began at the end of February 2026 via an integrated multimodal route. “The locomotive distribution started on 28 February 2026 with the delivery route from Belawan Station in Division I North Sumatra to JICT Station in the Daop 1 Jakarta region. The entire delivery process was completed on 9 March, faster than the set target thanks to the implementation of optimal and efficient operational work patterns at every stage,” she said. As a company that has obtained a Multimodal Transport Business Entity (BUAM) licence, KAI Logistik integrates various modes of transportation in the cross-regional logistics distribution process. The locomotives shipped are diesel hydraulic types known for their high operational flexibility in supporting various train travel needs. With these characteristics, the locomotives are expected to strengthen the reliability of rail facilities in supporting the smooth operation of passenger trains. Through this fleet distribution, KAI Logistik reaffirms its commitment to supporting the reliability of national rail transport operations sustainably.
