KAI Launches Shuttle Service to Kuningan from Cirebon Station
PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero), specifically KAI Daop 3 Cirebon, has begun providing a shuttle or feeder transport service for train passengers. The shuttle service commenced operations on Monday, 29 June 2026, with the destination being Kuningan Regency, West Java.
“This shuttle service is prepared with the aim of facilitating the mobility of train customers,” said the Public Relations Manager of KAI Daop 3 Cirebon, Muhibbuddin, on Sunday, 28 June 2026.
Muhibbuddin continued that this service represents a strengthening of transport mode integration to improve KAI’s service to customers. KAI aims to ensure that passengers have ease in continuing their journeys to various destinations through the onward transport available at the station. Furthermore, Cirebon Station serves as a major transport hub that is being continuously organised to provide smoother, more comfortable, and more efficient travel services.
Through this strategic step, KAI Daop 3 endeavours to establish Cirebon Station as an icon of modern and sustainable public transport. Similar efforts are planned to be implemented at other stations within this operational area.
Shuttle Routes and Operational Schedules
The shuttle will serve train passengers disembarking at Cirebon Station and continuing their journey to Kuningan Regency at a cost of only Rp 50,000 per person. In collaboration with a travel service provider, the route covers Cilimus – Jalaksana – Cirendang, and the same applies to the return journey.
The daily departure schedule for the shuttle is as follows:
- Cirebon Station to Kuningan Terminal:
03:30 WIB, 09:30 WIB, 12:15 WIB, 16:00 WIB, 18:30 WIB, 20:00 WIB
- Kuningan Terminal to Cirebon Station:
04:30 WIB, 07:15 WIB, 12:30 WIB, 15:00 WIB, 18:30 WIB, 20:30 WIB
With this increased connectivity and service, KAI Daop 3 Cirebon also hopes to deliver a positive impact on the regional economy. Easier access is expected to smooth the flow of tourists and business actors visiting the Cirebon, Kuntingan, and surrounding areas.
“We hope customers feel increasingly comfortable choosing the train because they do not need to worry about onward access after arriving at the station. Everything is provided easily and safely,” said Muhibbuddin.
Taufik, 38, a resident of Sangkanurip Village, Kuningan Regency, expressed his joy regarding the launch of the shuttle service. “Sometimes we go to Jakarta to visit family. Usually, when taking the train, we use online transport to get to Cirebon,” said Taufik. However, he noted that online car services can be quite expensive. “The shuttle is cheap, only Rp 50,000, which is still affordable,” he added.
Similarly, Dede, 53, from Ciawigebang, Kuningan Regency, shared his experience. He usually takes the train to Jakarta, but previously had to drive his own car from Kuningan to Cirebon and leave it at a relative’s house before using an online car to reach the station.
“It is quite troublesome. Driving my own car to Jakarta is exhausting,” he said. Consequently, Dede welcomed the new shuttle service and hopes that the service will be long-lasting.
