PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) officially launched the new look of its corporate website kai.id on Monday, 17 August 2026, at the KAI Head Office Auditorium in Bandung. The update aims to make it easier for the public to obtain information about services, products, business units, sustainability, and the history of KAI through a single, more modern, structured, and integrated information gateway.

The launch coincided with the 81st anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia, which carried the theme ‘Indonesia Berdaulat, Adil, dan Makmur’ (Sovereign, Just, and Prosperous Indonesia). In this moment, KAI President Director Bobby Rasyidin positioned the website update as part of the company’s digital transformation to strengthen connectivity and public information access.

KAI President Director Bobby Rasyidin said technological developments and changes in public behaviour are encouraging the company to present information channels that are increasingly accessible, informative, responsive, and relevant to public needs.

‘The KAI website must be able to answer the public’s need for information that is easy to find, clear, and relevant. We present the new face of kai.id so that the public can get to know KAI’s services and developments more fully through an increasingly better digital experience,’ said Bobby.

The need for information through kai.id is evident from its visit rate. Based on data from the KAI Information Technology Team, kai.id recorded 49.4 million visitors in the one-year period up to August 2026. This figure shows the scale of public interaction with KAI’s corporate digital channel and was a consideration in delivering a simpler and more comfortable information access experience.

Besides functioning as a public information channel, kai.id also continues to provide access to travel transaction services. From January to July 2026, cumulative transactions for mainline and local trains through the website were recorded at 118,471 transactions, or 0.71 per cent. Throughout January to December 2025, the number of transactions through the website reached 347,315 transactions, or 1.34 per cent.

In its new look, kai.id has been developed as KAI’s information gateway connecting various information about products, services, business units, and company programmes in one website. The information structure has been arranged more clearly so that visitors can reach the information they need through a more concise flow.

This navigation is reinforced through a Mega Menu that displays services, business units, and company information in a single interaction. With this structure, the public can explore various parts of kai.id more simply and purposefully.

‘We want people who open kai.id to be able to immediately find the information they need. When visits reach tens of millions, ease of navigation becomes an important part of the quality of KAI’s communication with the public,’ said Bobby.

Information access has also been expanded through the presence of Indonesian and English languages. On the previous website, information was available in Indonesian. The bilingual feature on the new kai.id opens wider access for the international community, partners, academics, researchers, and stakeholders who wish to obtain information about KAI.

KAI has also placed Call to Action (CTA) buttons strategically on various parts of the website. This feature helps visitors reach subdomains, subsidiaries, and various KAI platforms more quickly, so that the user journey from one piece of information to related services can take place more practically.

The scope of information on kai.id is also more complete, ranging from Access by KAI, freight transport, technology, assets and commercial opportunities, sustainability, to heritage. In this update, KAI has introduced a dedicated heritage page that was previously unavailable, allowing the public to explore information about railway history and heritage in a dedicated space.

The presentation of information has been strengthened through a more modern design, clearer content hierarchy, and more space to display company data and documents. This development is intended to make it easier for the public, media, academics, researchers, partners, and stakeholders to obtain corporate information according to their needs.

Bobby said the development of kai.id refers to the concept of World-Class Digital Experience, with a modern, clean, professional appearance and more structured information presentation. This direction is in line with KAI’s transformation to improve the quality of digital interaction while strengthening transparency and public trust.

‘For us, the quality of digital channels determines how easily the public can get to know KAI. We want kai.id to develop into a credible information reference that is easy to explore and able to reach an increasingly wide audience,’ concluded Bobby.
