PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) is holding the IP Contest by KAI 2026 as a creative participation platform for the public to produce works that can become KAI’s new identity. Embracing the spirit of ‘Saatnya Kreativitas Menjadi Identitas’ (Time for Creativity to Become Identity), the competition invites the public to channel ideas, characters, and creative expressions closely related to the railway world.

Vice President of Corporate Communication KAI Anne Purba stated that the IP Contest by KAI 2026 is part of the company’s effort to broaden its engagement with the public. According to Anne, KAI’s transformation must continue to be communicated in a fresh, creative language that is easily accepted across generations.

‘KAI is opening a space for the public to help shape the company’s future identity. Through the IP Contest by KAI 2026, we aim to present creative works that can strengthen the emotional connection between KAI, its customers, and the creative generation of Indonesia,’ Anne said.

The competition is open to all Indonesian citizens, with the submission period running from 21 June to 26 July 2026. Each participant may submit a maximum of three works through the official website, ipcontest.kai.id.

KAI has prepared prizes for the winners. The first-place winner will receive Rp50 million. Additionally, three winners in the nomination category will each receive Rp2.5 million. Winners will also be awarded trophies, certificates, merchandise, and Luxury Train travel vouchers. In its promotional materials, KAI has also prepared e-wallet prizes for three selected voters.

Anne added that the railway offers many stories that can serve as sources of inspiration, from customer journeys and station atmospheres to staff services, train designs, and the public’s experience using public transport.

‘KAI’s identity continues to grow alongside customer experiences. Therefore, creative works born from the public can serve as an important bridge to present KAI as a public transport brand that is close, relevant, and easily recognisable,’ she said.

Through the IP Contest by KAI 2026, the company hopes to see works with strong character that can enrich its corporate communication with the public. The competition also provides a space for creators from various regions to contribute to building a KAI identity that is increasingly adaptive to the times.

‘KAI invites the public to participate and submit their best works during the competition period. Complete information and registration for the IP Contest by KAI 2026 can be accessed at https://ipcontest.kai.id,’ Anne concluded.
