KAI Jember Train Services Return to Normal
PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI has confirmed that train operations have returned to normal on Thursday, 30 April 2026. This marks the completion of the evacuation process and handling of operational disruptions caused by a train collision at Bekasi Timur Station in the KAI Daerah Operasi 1 Jakarta region. Trains previously affected, namely KA Pandalungan on the Gambir–Jember route and KA Blambangan Ekspres on the Pasar Senen–Ketapang route, have resumed operations with normal travel patterns according to the schedule on Thursday. These journeys had previously experienced significant delays as a result of the evacuation of the KA Argobromo Anggrek train set and the commuter line or KRL. Manager of Legal and Public Relations for KAI Daop 9 Jember, Cahyo Widiantoro, stated that this normalisation of travel is the result of quick work and coordination by all relevant parties on the ground. “We are grateful that the handling of operational disruptions in the Bekasi Timur area has been completed well, so train journeys, including KA Pandalungan and KA Blambangan Ekspres, have now returned to normal and on time. KAI is committed to continuously maintaining operational reliability and providing the best service to customers,” said Cahyo on Thursday, 30 April 2026. Furthermore, KAI also encourages all train passengers not to hesitate to use rail transport again. KAI assures that aspects of passenger safety, security, and comfort remain the top priority in every operational journey. “We invite the public not to be afraid to take the train. KAI continues to commit to providing the best service by prioritising safety as the main focus,” he added. KAI remains focused on improving service quality, including ensuring fast and accurate information to customers, as well as maintaining safety standards as the top priority in every train journey. This also serves as an indicator that trains remain the public’s primary choice for safe, comfortable, and reliable travel. KAI urges all customers to continue paying attention to departure schedules and travel information through KAI’s official channels, such as the Access by KAI application, social media, or direct information from station staff. Customers are also expected to arrive earlier before the departure schedule to anticipate any unwanted issues. In addition, KAI invites the entire community to continue supporting the creation of safe, comfortable, and orderly train journeys by complying with the applicable rules in the station environment and during travel.
