KAI Jember Officially Opens for 2026 Eid Transport Operations
PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero), or KAI Regional Operations Division 9 Jember, officially commenced Eid transport operations for 2026 at the Ketapang Grand Station Yard on Friday, 13 March 2026. A total of 154,871 tickets have been sold for departures between 11 March and 1 April 2026, as recorded by Thursday, 12 March 2026.
Cahyo Widiantoro, Legal and Public Relations Manager for Daop 9 Jember, stated that these figures are expected to continue rising as Eid approaches. “This number is projected to increase steadily as we approach Eid al-Fitr,” said Cahyo on Friday, 13 March 2026.
Cahyo indicated that the public still has opportunities to obtain train tickets across various routes served by KAI Daop 9 Jember. These include KA Pandalungan (Jember–Gambir) with 651 remaining Executive class seats, KA Blambangan Ekspres (Ketapang–Pasar Senen) with 418 Executive seats, and KA Ranggajati (Jember–Cirebon) with 1,367 Executive and 824 Economy class seats available.
Additional options include KA Wijayakusuma (Ketapang–Cilacap) with 1,475 Executive and 462 Economy seats, KA Mutiara Timur (Ketapang–Surabaya Pasar Turi) with 2,749 Executive and 2,147 Economy seats, and KA Mutiara Timur Fakultatif (Ketapang–Surabaya Gubeng) with 5,103 Executive seats.
Further travel options are available on KA Ijen Ekspres (Ketapang–Malang) with 1,019 Executive and 1,638 Economy seats, and KA Logawa (Jember–Purwokerto) with 4,790 Executive and 83 Economy seats available.
For trains operating under the Public Service Obligation (PSO) scheme, KA Sritanjung (Ketapang–Yogyakarta) tickets are sold out. However, tickets remain available for KA Tawangalun (Ketapang–Malang Kota Lama) with 170 seats and KA Probowangi (Ketapang–Surabaya Gubeng) with 47 seats.
KAI Daop 9 Jember is also providing 3,398 seats with a 30 per cent discount through a government stimulus programme for those travelling during Eid season via train.
Cahyo urged the public planning to travel during the Eid transport period to plan their journeys carefully and book tickets through official KAI channels. “We encourage the public to book tickets through the Access by KAI application, the official KAI website, or other official sales channels. Additionally, passengers are expected to arrive at the station early, comply with travel regulations, and maintain safety and comfort whilst using train transport,” he concluded.
The commencement of 2026 Eid transport operations was marked by a formal troop review held on the morning of Friday, 13 March 2026. Heru Kuswanto, KAI Director of Facilities and Infrastructure Management, led the review, which was attended by staff from Daop 9 Jember, KUPT Kotatif in the Banyuwangi region, safety inspectors, and employees of subsidiary companies.
