KAI Jember: Lebaran Train Passenger Numbers Rise 6.18 Percent
PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Daerah Operasi 9 Jember has recorded an increase in the total accumulated number of passengers across all stations in the Jember Operational Region during the 2026 Lebaran transport period compared to last year’s Lebaran. The number of passengers during Lebaran 2026 reached 482,375, consisting of 237,345 boarding passengers and 245,030 alighting passengers, with a total of 26 operated train journeys.
This figure shows an improvement compared to the 2025 Lebaran transport period, where the total accumulated passengers were recorded at 454,287, with details of 223,209 boarding and 231,078 alighting passengers on the same number of journeys, namely 26 trains.
Overall, the passenger volume during the 2026 Lebaran transport rose 6.18 percent compared to the previous year. This increase reflects the growing public interest in using rail transport, which is considered safe, comfortable, and punctual.
Manager of Law and Public Relations for KAI Daerah Operasi 9 Jember, Cahyo Widiantoro, stated that this achievement is the result of the company’s commitment to improving service quality for customers.
“We are committed to continuously providing the best service, both in terms of safety, comfort, and journey punctuality,” said Cahyo on Thursday, 2 April 2026.
The most popular commercial train among the public during the 2026 Lebaran transport period was KA Logawa with a total of 31,175 passengers, followed by KA Blambangan Ekspres with 23,939 passengers.
Meanwhile, for Public Service Obligation (PSO) services, KA Probowangi was the most sought-after with 69,853 passengers, followed by KA Sri Tanjung with 47,403 passengers.
Cahyo also expressed appreciation to all customers who trusted rail for their homecoming journeys. “We thank all customers who have loyally used rail transport services as the primary choice for Lebaran transport. This trust motivates us to continue improving service quality in the future,” he said.
With this achievement, KAI Daerah Operasi 9 Jember is optimistic that trains will continue to be the public’s preferred mode of transport, especially in supporting mobility during important moments like Lebaran transport.
