KAI Jakarta says seat availability for Lebaran return flow is sufficient
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT KAI Daop 1 Jakarta states that seat availability for the Lebaran return flow in 2026 is still sufficient, with a total of more than 200,000 seats. “A total of 293,937 seats are still available for departures during the period from 23 March to 1 April 2026,” said Manager of Public Relations for KAI Daop 1 Jakarta, Franoto Wibowo, in a statement in Jakarta on Saturday. Meanwhile, the discount programme of up to 30 per cent for economy commercial class is still ongoing until 29 March 2026, with around 42,000 seats remaining in the Daop 1 Jakarta region. During the 2026 Lebaran Transport period, from 11 March to 1 April, KAI Daop 1 Jakarta provides a total seat capacity of 1,083,623 seats. As of now, 779,403 tickets have been sold, with an occupancy rate of 72 per cent. On the day of Eid al-Fitr, the departure volume of passengers from the Daop 1 Jakarta region reached 48,668 people, while arrivals were recorded at 18,814 passengers. The highest number of departures was recorded at Pasar Senen Station with 19,238 passengers, followed by Gambir Station with 16,094 passengers, and Bekasi Station with 7,845 passengers. “Cumulatively, a total of 532,058 customers have been departed since 11 March 2026,” Franoto stated. KAI operates 68 regular long-distance train services, as well as 20 additional trains to anticipate the passenger surge.
