PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Operation Area 1 Jakarta dispatched 38,666 passengers on Tuesday, the eve of Eid al-Adha 2026, marking the peak of long-distance train departures during this extended holiday period.

Head of Corporate Communications Franoto Wibowo stated that Pasar Senen Station accounted for the highest number of departures with 15,041 passengers, followed by Gambir Station with 14,144. Other stations included Bekasi (4,069), Jatinegara (2,673), Cikarang (1,540), Karawang (594), and Cikampek (605).

During the Eid al-Adha holiday period from 25 May to 2 June 2026, KAI Operation Area 1 Jakarta operated 68 regular long-distance services daily, plus nine additional services — eight from Gambir and one from Pasar Senen. Total seating capacity for long-distance trains amounted to 363,631 seats, with 206,805 tickets sold, representing a 56% occupancy rate.

Passenger destinations were dominated by cities such as Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Semarang, Purwokerto, Bandung, and Jember. Local train services also saw high demand, with the Pangrango service carrying 3,626 passengers at 98% occupancy, while the Siliwangi service served 897 passengers at 47% occupancy.

KAI Operation Area 1 Jakarta urged all passengers to allow ample travel time to stations to avoid missing trains, particularly amid potential traffic congestion during the holiday period. Passengers were also reminded to adhere to the 20-kilogram luggage limit per person and ensure tickets match their identification details for smooth boarding.
