Jakarta (ANTARA) –

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero)’s Jakarta Operating Region 1 (Daop 1) has confirmed that all train services from Gambir Station are operating normally and on schedule, despite plans for demonstrations at several locations in Jakarta.

“All train services from Gambir Station are running normally and according to schedule, despite plans for demonstrations in Jakarta,” Franoto Wibowo, public relations manager for KAI Daop 1 Jakarta, said in an official statement on Tuesday.

He said that, as of 9.40am Western Indonesia Time, 5,768 passengers had departed or were scheduled to depart by train from Gambir Station.

The figure remains subject to change as ticket sales and bookings continue until the evening.

KAI advised prospective passengers departing from Gambir Station to arrive early to allow for possible congestion and traffic management around routes leading to the station.

KAI Daop 1 Jakarta said it was committed to ensuring that train services remained safe, comfortable and punctual, and to providing passengers with regular updates.

Meanwhile, the Jakarta Transportation Agency said demonstrations were due to take place from 10am, with activity planned around Monas, Tugu Tani, the DPR/MPR building, UKI Cawang, Senayan Roundabout and Rawamangun.

The agency urged road users to avoid the demonstration locations and use alternative routes.
