KAI Jakarta: 64,000 train tickets still available for school holiday period

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Daerah Operasi (Daop) 1 Jakarta has recorded that around 64,000 long-distance train tickets for the school holiday period from 1 to 5 July 2026 are still available. Daop 1 Jakarta Public Relations Manager Franoto Wibowo stated on Tuesday that the available tickets consist of approximately 50,000 executive class seats, 13,000 commercial economy class seats, and 500 public service obligation (PSO) economy class seats. Overall, the total seating capacity for long-distance trains during the holiday period from 20 June to 5 July 2026 amounts to 629,941 seats. Based on provisional data as of Tuesday, 30 June 2026 at 08:30 Western Indonesia Time, the average occupancy rate for commercial economy class reached 92 per cent, while government-subsidised PSO economy class stood at 105 per cent, and executive class was around 60 per cent. KAI Daop 1 Jakarta is urging the public planning to travel during the remaining holiday period to book tickets immediately through the Access by KAI application, the kai.id website, and other official KAI ticket sales channels. Passengers are also advised to estimate their travel time to the departure station, ensure their identity data matches the ticket, utilise the Face Recognition Boarding Gate service to speed up the boarding process, and bring only necessary luggage for a more comfortable journey. Franoto Wibowo emphasised that KAI Daop 1 Jakarta is committed to providing safe, comfortable, and punctual transport services while supporting more efficient and sustainable public mobility.
