In the Jakarta Daop 1 region, 329,000 seats are available at discounted fares, with approximately 53,000 seats remaining for public utilisation, according to Franoto Wibowo, public relations manager for KAI Daop 1 Jakarta, speaking in Jakarta on Wednesday.

A 30 per cent tariff discount programme applies to commercial economy-class trains during 14-29 March 2026.

“KAI invites the public to immediately take advantage of available ticket availability, including the discount programme, and to plan their journeys carefully for mutual comfort,” said Franoto.

KAI Daop 1 Jakarta is providing a total capacity of 1,083,623 seats on long-distance trains throughout the 2026 Eid holiday transport period. Of this total, 743,786 tickets have been sold, with average occupancy reaching 69 per cent.

During the 11-20 March 2026 period, or the pre-Eid season, 477,013 train tickets have been sold. On certain dates, remaining seats average fewer than 500 seats.

“For departures after Eid, namely 23 March to 1 April 2026, seat availability remains quite substantial, reaching more than 316,000 seats,” noted Franoto.

He added that during the 2026 Eid holiday transport period, KAI Daop 1 Jakarta is operating 68 regular long-distance train journeys per day, 12 additional trains from Gambir Station, seven additional trains from Pasar Senen Station, and four free motor train services.

Several trains that are popular among passengers from Gambir Station include Pandalungan, Argo Semeru, Gunungjati, Cakrabuana, Pangandaran, and Batavia.

Meanwhile, from Pasar Senen Station, trains in high demand include Bengawan, Airlangga, Serayu, Kertajaya, Jayakarta, and Progo.
