Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT KAI Operational Region (Daop) 1 Jakarta recorded 37,389 railway passengers arriving on Monday at stations across the Daop 1 Jakarta area, an increase of around 18.4 per cent compared with the previous day, when only 31,565 passengers arrived.

Franoto Wibowo, Public Relations Manager of KAI Daop 1 Jakarta, said in an official statement on Monday that of this total, 13,614 passengers arrived at Gambir Station, 12,709 at Pasar Senen Station, 4,542 at Jatinegara Station, 4,006 at Bekasi Station, 1,168 at Cikarang Station, 706 at Cikampek Station, and the remainder at Karawang Station.

Meanwhile, the volume of long-distance railway (KAJJ) departures from the Daop 1 Jakarta area on the same day was recorded at 23,731 passengers, with the largest number departing from Gambir Station at 9,885, followed by Pasar Senen Station with 7,995 passengers, Bekasi Station with 2,901 passengers, and Jatinegara Station with 1,407 passengers.

“For members of the public who still intend to travel, KAI Daop 1 Jakarta is still providing 73,772 seats for departures on 7 to 9 September 2026,” said Franoto.

Specifically on 7 September 2026, KAI will also operate three additional trains from Gambir Station: the Gambir-Yogyakarta Additional Train, the Gambir-Semarang Tawang Additional Train, and the Gambir-Malang Additional Train.

KAI Daop 1 Jakarta is providing 17,105 seats on 7 September 2026, 27,562 seats on 8 September 2026, and 29,105 seats on 9 September 2026.

Overall, total KAJJ seating capacity for the period 6-9 September 2026 reaches 157,160 seats, with a total of 75,475 tickets already sold.

“We urge people who have planned their journeys to book their tickets promptly through the available official channels. Customers may also choose alternative schedules or other routes that are still available,” said Franoto.
