During its journey, KA Sangkuriang will cover 1,002 kilometres, passing through Jember, Lumajang, Surabaya, Solo, Yogyakarta, Ciamis, Tasikmalaya, and finally arriving in Bandung.
This underscores KAI’s commitment to providing transportation services that can reach wider areas directly.
He stated that the introduction of KA Sangkuriang is a strategic step in improving service quality for passengers.
“KA Sangkuriang brings a fresh atmosphere to train travel services, not only adding to transport options but also providing a more comfortable and efficient travel experience for the public. With the direct Ketapang-Bandung route without transfers, passengers can now enjoy long-distance journeys more practically,” he said.

As a token of appreciation to passengers, KAI is offering a special promotion in the form of a 50 percent discount for the inaugural trip on the Bandung-Ketapang route on 1 May 2026.
This programme is expected to attract public interest in trying the new experience with KA Sangkuriang.
“We urge all prospective passengers to book tickets through the official Access by KAI application or other official sales channels to ensure ease, security, and comfort in the transaction process,” said Cahyo.
With the arrival of KA Sangkuriang, KAI Daop 9 Jember is optimistic about continuing to enhance the quality of public transportation services while strengthening inter-regional connectivity in Indonesia.
