KAI introduces New Generation train sets on Bangunkarta and Singasari routes
PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Daerah Operasi 7 Madiun is introducing an innovation in rail services through the operation of Stainless Steel New Generation (SSNG) train sets on the KA Bangunkarta and KA Singasari routes, which offer advantages over previous sets.
Manager of Public Relations for KAI Daop 7 Madiun, Tohari, in Madiun, East Java, on Sunday, stated that replacing the train sets for these two flagship services represents KAI’s commitment to delivering increasingly modern, safe, and comfortable transportation services for customers.
“The use of the Stainless Steel New Generation sets is part of efforts to improve service quality. Customers will experience greater comfort through more modern facilities, better interior design, and enhanced safety aspects,” said Tohari.
According to him, the implementation of the New Generation sets on the KA Bangunkarta and KA Singasari will commence on Wednesday, 15 April 2026.
The SSNG sets are known for several advantages, including captain seat models or seats facing the direction of travel with armrests, equipped with central AC cooling, reclining seats, and rotatable seats (revolving seats), though rotation is not recommended as it reduces legroom.
Additionally, there are USB ports of Type A and Type C at every seat, more soundproof cabins, ergonomic seats, a more modern passenger information system, and facilities that are more passenger-friendly.
KAI Daop 7 Madiun hopes that with the arrival of these latest sets, the travel experience for customers will be even more enjoyable, in terms of comfort, security, and satisfaction while using rail services.
“We urge all customers to continue complying with rules during the journey and to help maintain the provided facilities so they remain comfortable for shared use,” said Tohari.
