KAI Highlights Strategic Role of Railways in Supporting National Connectivity
The strategic role can be seen from the high mobility of the public using rail transport as a choice for long-distance journeys.
“This reflects the high public trust in rail transport as the primary choice for safe, comfortable, and punctual long-distance travel,” said KAI Daop 1 Jakarta Spokesperson Franoto Wibowo in Jakarta on Saturday.
To provide the best service during the Eid Transportation period, KAI Daop 1 Jakarta is enhancing various services, including providing mobile customer service, adding cleaning staff at stations and on trains, increasing security with support from TNI/Polri, and offering Eid-themed facilities and child-friendly activities.
On the other hand, KAI Daop 1 Jakarta also ensures that seat availability is still sufficient to accommodate public needs until the end of the Eid Transportation period.
Based on data, Franoto noted that there are still 138,049 seats available for departures until 1 April 2026.
To provide convenience and added value for customers, KAI is offering the Silaturahmi Promo in the form of a 20% discount for executive class on 61 specific train journeys with departure periods until 1 April 2026.
The promo is expected to encourage the public to continue choosing rail as the primary mode of transport.
Customers can also take advantage of the government stimulus programme offering discounts of up to 30% for commercial economy class until train departures on 29 March 2026, with around 6,000 seats remaining available in the Daop 1 Jakarta area.
“We invite the public to immediately plan their trips and take advantage of the remaining seats and various promos still available,” he said.
He also reaffirmed KAI’s commitment to continuously delivering reliable transport services that not only provide safe, comfortable, and memorable travel experiences.
KAI Daop 1 Jakarta also emphasised that it will continue to conduct ongoing monitoring and evaluation through the Eid Transportation Post to ensure all operational, service, security, and safety aspects remain maintained until the end of the 2026 Eid transportation period.
