PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero), alongside the KAI Group, is opening its 2026 External Recruitment starting 4 September 2026. The programme is open to high school graduates, Diploma 3 (D3), and Diploma 4/Bachelor’s degree (D4/S1) holders, aiming to strengthen human resources to support operational reliability, service, and railway business development.

Alongside this recruitment drive, KAI Group is introducing an integrated recruitment portal via karier.kai.id. This portal serves as a single recruitment channel for KAI and its subsidiaries, allowing applicants to access career opportunities, registration processes, and selection stages through one unified platform.

Anne Purba, Vice President of Corporate Communication at KAI, stated that the integration of the recruitment portal is part of strengthening talent management within the KAI Group. “Through the single KAI Group recruitment portal, the public can obtain more integrated information regarding career opportunities in KAI and its subsidiaries. This step also supports a recruitment process that is increasingly effective, transparent, and accessible,” said Anne.

Anne added that the development of the railway industry requires human resources with competence, integrity, adaptability, and a service orientation. “KAI Group is offering opportunities to Indonesia’s younger generation to build their careers while contributing to the development of the national railway. The talents who join will play a role in maintaining operational reliability and improving the quality of service to the public,” she noted.

For the 2026 External Recruitment, KAI Group is offering positions across various fields, including operations, rolling stock and infrastructure, service, health, administration, logistics, and legal.

For high school graduates, positions such as Conductor, Train Driver, and Infrastructure Maintenance are available. For D3 graduates, roles include Conductor, Operations (including Train Driver, Assistant Station Master, and KPJR Operator), Infrastructure Maintenance, Paramedic, and Administration. Meanwhile, D4/S1 graduates can apply for Legal Administration, Logistics and Building Staff, and Sintelis & Facilities Negative Check Officers.

Each position has specific requirements and qualifications according to company needs. All information regarding formations, requirements, selection stages, and official announcements for the 2026 KAI Group External Recruitment will be provided via karier.kai.id.

“KAI Group ensures that the recruitment process is conducted transparently and free of charge. We urge the public to be wary of parties claiming to represent KAI Group or promising success in exchange for payment. Participant success is determined solely by selection results in accordance with regulations,” Anne stated.
