Jakarta (ANTARA) - KAI Commuter has utilised its CCTV Analytic system to follow up on a sexual harassment incident on the Commuter Line reported by the victim on Sunday, 22 February.

Leza Arlan, Public Relations Manager of KAI Commuter, stated that following receipt of the report, the company conducted a search through the CCTV Analytic system based on the characteristics of the alleged perpetrator provided by the victim.

“Subsequently, we confirmed with the victim the identity of the alleged perpetrator to ensure they are added to our blacklist,” he said in a statement in Jakarta on Saturday.

Leza explained that the security system issued a notification when the perpetrator re-entered the station area and boarded the Commuter Line on Friday, 27 February.

Following verification and after bringing the victim to the location, KAI Commuter staff accompanied the victim to report and hand over the alleged perpetrator to Depok Police for further legal proceedings.

“KAI Commuter will also provide support to the victim, both legal and psychological, to strengthen the victim,” he said.

KAI Commuter remains committed to consistently providing excellent service and a sense of safety to all its users, and continues to stand with the victim.
