Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) temporarily suspended operations of KA 806A Commuter Line Bandara (Airport Commuter Line) following an incident in which a truck struck a train at the Poris–Batu Ceper level crossing on Friday at approximately 06:05 WIB.

The suspension was implemented as a safety measure and to expedite the restoration of infrastructure so that the line could be declared safe for service, said KAI Vice President of Corporate Communication Anne Purba in a statement received in Jakarta.

“Safety is our top priority. All passengers have been safely evacuated and there were no casualties in this incident,” she said.

As a safety and recovery measure, she stated that Airport Commuter Line operations would be temporarily suspended until the infrastructure restoration process was declared safe for transit. KAI is concentrating all resources on expediting the restoration of the line so that services can be gradually resumed.

Since the morning, KAI has been coordinating with various parties, including law enforcement agencies such as the police and local government authorities, to ensure that the response and site security processes are conducted in an orderly manner and in accordance with regulations.

The target for normalisation of one track was being pursued in stages from 14:30 WIB, with safety considerations remaining paramount.

“We extend our apologies for the inconvenience caused. All recovery efforts are being carried out intensively so that services can return to normal as soon as possible,” said Anne.

Regarding the incident, KAI will pursue legal action in accordance with prevailing laws and regulations as part of its commitment to maintaining railway safety and improving discipline at level crossings.
