Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) has announced that an operational incident occurred in the area of Bekasi Timur Station, within Daerah Operasi 1 Jakarta, which impacted train services.

KAI expresses deep condolences for this incident. The situation brings sadness to customers and families awaiting news. Currently, all efforts are focused on the evacuation and handling of victims, with the primary priority being the safety and condition of every passenger.

All 240 passengers on the KA Argo Bromo Anggrek train have been successfully evacuated in safe condition.

Meanwhile, handling efforts are focused on the affected KRL passengers. As of now, 38 KRL passengers have been taken to hospitals for further treatment. They were referred to several nearby health facilities, including RSUD Bekasi, Primaya Hospital Bekasi Timur, Mitra Plumbon Cibitung, and RSU Bella Bekasi.

In the handling process, KAI, along with Basarnas, TNI, Polri, and medical teams, is acting swiftly to provide assistance and ensure that all victims receive treatment as quickly as possible.

KAI Vice President of Corporate Communication, Anne Purba, conveyed apologies to all customers.

“We express our deepest condolences and apologies for this incident. Our current focus is to ensure that all victims receive the best possible care. We understand the grief felt by families, and we continue to coordinate with all relevant parties to ensure the handling process runs smoothly,” she said.

Alongside the on-site handling, KAI is adjusting the operational patterns of KRL services according to track conditions, so that services to customers can gradually resume.

For passengers on KA 4 Argo Bromo Anggrek from Surabaya Pasar Turi to Gambir, KAI has prepared bus services to continue the journey to Gambir Station as part of follow-up services.

All long-distance train services departing from Gambir and Pasarsenen Stations have been temporarily halted to support the handling process and ensure travel safety.
