PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Daerah Operasi 1 Jakarta has issued a strong warning to the public not to easily believe recruitment information circulating on social media, particularly TikTok. This advisory comes after the discovery of accounts impersonating KAI and other state-owned enterprises (BUMN) to spread fake job vacancies.

Manager of Public Relations for KAI Daop 1 Jakarta, Franoto Wibowo, stressed that all official KAI recruitment processes are conducted only through the company’s designated channels. He assured that job vacancy information circulating from unofficial social media accounts does not originate from KAI.

“KAI never opens recruitment through unofficial social media accounts, including TikTok. Information circulating from those accounts can be confirmed as not coming from KAI,” said Franoto in Jakarta on Wednesday (8/4).

According to him, all stages of KAI employee selection are announced only through the e-recruitment.kai.id website and the company’s official social media. Outside of those channels, the public is urged not to trust circulating information.

KAI has noted that the methods used by the perpetrators are quite varied. These include spreading job postings through fake accounts, directing prospective applicants to specific contact numbers, demanding money under the guise of administration or selection fees, and promising acceptance without a clear process.

Franoto emphasised that KAI never collects any fees during the recruitment process. The company also does not collaborate with travel agents or third parties, does not require the use of specific hotels or transportation, and never promises instant acceptance to applicants.

He urged the public to be more critical before acting on job information that claims to be from KAI. Verification is an important step to avoid falling into fraudulent practices targeting job seekers.

“We urge the public to always verify and not be easily tempted by offers claiming to be from KAI. Do not become victims of scams,” he stated.

For the public who encounter suspicious information related to KAI recruitment, the company asks that they immediately confirm through KAI’s Contact Center at 121, WhatsApp 08111-2111-121, email [email protected], or other official KAI channels.
